New funding guideline for energy audits in companies

15. December 2020

On January 1st, 2021, the new funding guideline “Energy consulting for non-residential buildings, plants and systems (EBN)” will come into force. The BMWi bundles the existing guidelines for the promotion of “Energy advice for medium-sized companies (EBM)” and “Energy advice for non-residential buildings for municipalities and non-profit organizations”. The target group are companies, municipalities, municipal companies and non-profit organizations.

Four advisory modules are now available as part of the funding:

  • Refurbishment concept for non-residential buildings according to DIN V 18599
  • Advice on new construction according to DIN V 18599
  • Energy audit according to DIN EN 16247
  • As well as contracting orientation advice

As part of the energy advice, the recipients of the advice are also informed about other funding opportunities and about the possibilities of implementing an energy management system.

The amount of the subsidy depends on the counseling module selected and the respective circumstances. For energy advice in the form of an energy audit according to DIN EN 16247, the funding level is usually 80% and depends on the amount of energy costs: maximum €1,200 for annual energy costs under €10,000 and maximum €6,000 for annual energy costs over €10,000.

The energy audit according to DIN EN 16247, which looks at buildings, user behavior and systems, identifies potential energy savings and shows energy efficiency measures, is carried out by a recognized, certified energy consultant. They can also apply for funding through BAFA. For the company, or the municipality or organization, there is hardly any administrative effort. Our energy experts are recognized and listed by BAFA and dena. So nothing stands in the way of your energy audit and the associated funding.

BAFA will provide further information on the funding programs on its website from January 1st, 2021. Are you interested in an energy consultation or an energy audit according to DIN EN 16247? We would be happy to advise you and make you an individual offer. Contact us!
