Ensuring safety in the workplace is one of the employer's most important tasks. It protects itself and its employees from sickness-related absences, avoids difficulties with the employers' liability insurance association and creates an organization that does everything it can to ensure that employees can develop and thrive without worrying about their well-being.

There are far-reaching occupational safety requirements in accordance with the German Occupational Safety Act (ASiG) and the performance obligations of the German Social Accident Insurance. Penalties of up to 25,000 euros are payable for violations. This can also result in the loss of insurance cover from the relevant employers' liability insurance association.

The risk assessment determines the relevant hazards for all employees of a company in connection with their work. Based on these results, suitable individual protective measures are implemented to reduce the risk of accidents and health risks as much as possible.

Construction site safety refers to the monitoring and internal coordination tasks on the construction site. With regard to possible mutual hazards between several companies on a construction site, the main legal basis is the Construction Site Ordinance (BauStellV). As a rule, this is also associated with construction site-specific issues relating to environmental protection.

The accident prevention regulations represent the binding obligations regarding occupational health and safety in the workplace. They apply to every company and every insured person covered by statutory accident insurance. A health and safety coordinator is often appointed to ensure compliance with the accident prevention regulations.

According to the German Insurance Association (GDV), fire damage occurs on average every three minutes in Germany. Fire protection is intended to prevent a fire from starting or spreading due to fire or smoke and to enable people and animals to be rescued and effective extinguishing work to be carried out in the event of a fire.
